 Archies lasso Mustangs with small-ball

The Archies played small ball, scattering runs throughout the game to take down the Mustangs 11-3 to remain undefeated three games into the fall season.

The star of the show was the Archies defense, which was on point and communicated well on the field. Tom Redd pitched a great game. Chevette Calhoun had some good catches in the blazing sun in right-center. Dan Hilquist made a highlight-reel catch in right field as well.

The Mustangs are still looking for their first win.

S&B scramble in last inning to earn tie with Junkies

The visiting Junkies pulled out to a commanding 7-0 lead and then grimly held off Silver & Black's late rally to settle for a 9-9 tie.

S&B  scored three runs in the final inning, aided by some Junkie defensive miscues, to remain undefeated at 2-0-1. The Junkies are 1-1-1.

S&B's outfield defense was stellar in holding off a strong Junkies lineup. The 5-rated Kent Stanley was the player of the game for the Junkies after his flawless debut at first base and strong day at the plate hitting 8th in the lineup.

The Red Sox and Killabrews are also 3-0 at the quarter-turn of the season.
